Sparkle Gowns Review : The Ivory Pavilion

27 November 2018

Equal parts charming and opulent, The Ivory Pavilion in County Antrim is a must-see wedding venue. We’re completely smitten with the gorgeous Northern Irish estate, which combines the elegance of a historical castle with the convenience of modern, purpose-built facilities. The Ivory Pavilion is located in the grounds of Galgorm Castle, along with lush wooded areas, old chapel ruins, and walled gardens bursting with bluebells and lavender. Sounds pretty idyllic, right?

The Space at The Ivory Pavilion

Located just 25 minutes from Belfast, The Ivory Pavilion is the perfect spot for intimate and elaborate wedding celebrations alike. The Pavilion itself can host up to 250 guests for dinner, while Galgorm Castle has a capacity of up to 40 guests. If you’re having a larger crowd, the 400-year-old castle won’t go to waste – it’s a lovely spot for pre-dinner drinks. There are lots of options for ceremonies, too, which can be held in the castle’s drawing room or dining room, in the Pavilion itself, outside on the terrace in front of the castle, or on the walled garden lawn.

The Vibe at Ivory Pavilion Weddings

Weddings at The Ivory Pavilion are ruled by the seasons – the walled gardens are perfect for arrival drinks and lawn games in summer, when your party can also flood out onto the seated terrace overlooking the gardens after dinner, and have the action pumped out to them via the venue’s sound system. In winter, the castle drawing room is an exceedingly cosy spot in which to celebrate! Whatever the season, The Ivory Pavilion hosts just one wedding per day, so you’ll have exclusive use of the gorgeous grounds.

The Food at Ivory Pavilion Weddings

The four or five-course wedding banquet at The Ivory Pavilion is produced by award-winning caterers Posh Nosh, who specialise in high quality, creative cuisine, with a focus on local ingredients. Home-baked breads with locally-churned butter will appear on your wedding menu, alongside dishes like fillet of beef with smoked bone marrow, and roast cod cassoulet of local chorizo. The Ivory Pavilion’s in-house Sommelier will also be on hand to help you choose the perfect wines to pair with your meal.

The Activities at Ivory Pavilion Weddings

It would be a terrible shame to get married at the Ivory Pavilion and not spend a little time exploring the stunning Glens of Antrim – of course, golf fans will say the same about the estate’s championship golf course!

The Highlight at Ivory Pavilion Weddings

Post-ceremony lawn games in summer or marveling at the 17th Century grandeur of the Galgorm Castle drawing room in winter. And, of course, the magical pictures that you’ll create with your photographer in the stunning estate grounds!
